| Welcome to The Gentle Invitation of May May, whilst often seen as a bridge to summer, May carries its own quiet magic, reminding us of possibility as nature awakens and blooms.The word “may” itself speaks of possibility, mirroring the season’s energy of growth and expansion. Its birth flowers, the Lily of the Valley, my late mums favourite, symbolising sweetness and happiness, and Hawthorn, representing hope and protection. Beltane is one of the eight festivals in the Wheel of the Year, it sits between spring equinox & summer solstice, marking the peak of spring and the start of summer. Celebrated on the 1st May it’s energy is about growth, passion, connection, and stepping fully into life. On May 21st, World Meditation Day, we are offered a moment to pause and reconnect. The Metta Prayer, rooted in ancient Buddhist tradition, gently cultivates loving-kindness and compassion, for ourselves and all beings.May all beings be peaceful. May all beings be happy. May all beings be safe. May all beings awaken. May all beings be free.May this day be a small reminder to pause, breathe, and extend kindness, within and beyond ourselves.As we move through this month of possibility, sound meditation can offer a quiet space to rest, listen, and allow the body and mind to settle. Through vibration, tone, and silence, we are invited to soften even more deeply into presence, meeting May just as it is, and ourselves, just as we are, with kindness. |
