Tiny Tones ~ Children’s Sound Meditation
Most children are fascinated by the sounds of the various musical instruments I used in my Sound Journeys. At the last family session I was asked by the children “when can we come again” and it made me think how important it is to give children the opportunity to settle, listen, relax and experience calm. Research shows many benefits of meditation include stress reduction, learning self regulation, increased self confidence, patience,stillness and better listening skills. Sound Meditation for children can give them a focus and help to bring a sense of balance and peace. So in 2022 I will aim to offer more family sessions, to contact children’s settings and schools and promote the benefits of Sound Meditation with the hope that more children can experience some time out to relax and release the happy hormone”oxytocin. We could all use more of that!
